NSA Rule Changes for 1010

Late breaking news from the NSA national convention.

Proposed Pitching Distance Changes for 2010
Final vote on the pitching distance was taken tonight. Goes to NSA Rules Board for approval with final announcement Thursday morning.

16u - 43ft.
16u - 43ft. optional for state directors in 2010 only.
14u - 43 ft. optional for state directors with World Series at 40ft.

One or all will be passed by the board

Jewelry Rule Change.
In effect - hair pins, clips etc along with all jewelry not dreamed to be unsafe by the umpires is allowed.

Attempted Bunt
Bat must be pulled back out of the strike zone or a strike will be called on an attempted bunt.

Some other changes also approved.
NSA online rosters will be expanded to 25 players on September first in 2010.

New Web site will finally go live the beginning of the new year. Lots of features such as cut and past rosters from year to year. I am testing it now and all it will make every ones job a little easier.

Sanctioning year will change to September for 2012 season, meaning you can sanction your new teams in the fall.

More news as I am permitted to release it.
